Freedom Investment Group, Inc., doing business as FIG Property Management, is a licensed Tennessee real estate firm based in Knoxville.
Katie and Clay Linkous started Freedom Investment Group in Knoxville in 2017, managing rentals they owned. As other owners saw the care and systems behind those homes, they asked us to manage theirs. Today we care for more than 700 homes across 4 Tennessee markets, and our partnership still owns more than 100 of them.
Our founders have personally bought and sold more than $20 million in real estate, so we see every decision the way an owner does. Many of the homes we manage are still ones our founders own.
That's why our team is measured on what matters to owners and residents: vacancy, days on market, turn time, resident retention and how well each home is kept. We are not rewarded for signing more leases or for turnover.
Katie and her husband Clay incorporated Freedom Investment Group in 2017 and have been committed to providing Freedom In Housing. As President and CEO, Katie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience as an investor and leader in the community and cares deeply for the success of all of the individuals they work with and serve.
Cassidy was born and raised in Knoxville and has been part of the FIG team since 2022. She recently earned her bachelor's degree in history and loves learning about people and their stories, which carries naturally into building relationships in property management. She is a trusted resource for property owners, helping them feel informed, supported and confident in their investments. Outside of work, she spends time with her two cats, Maren and Martha, and her puppy, Mae.
Karel is a dedicated wife, proud mom and experienced accountant who brings both precision and heart to everything she does. She balances the details without losing sight of the bigger picture. Outside of work, she enjoys exploring great restaurants, time with her family, and peaceful sunrise walks along the beach.
Kayla lives in Knoxville with her husband, Dustin, and their five fur babies. She moved from Colorado and enjoys the Tennessee mountains without the Colorado cold. An artist in her free time, she loves painting, creating for others and teaching. She keeps the team running smoothly day to day and is always thinking a few months ahead.
Julia was born and raised in Knoxville. She loves keeping things organized and making sure everything runs smoothly for the team. Outside of work, you'll probably find her on the pickleball court or with her husband, Spencer, and their dog, Rocket. The two share a love for fragrances and run a small business together.
Johann is fluent in Spanish and known for being dependable, kind and easy to work with. He enjoys time with his wife and plays soccer competitively. His teamwork on the field and positive attitude carry over into everything he does at FIG.
