Frequently Asked Questions - Current Tenants

Rent payments are accepted online via the resident portal, where you can use a credit/debit card or cash. You can also use our paycode option to submit a cash payment. 


Unless your lease otherwise specifies, rent for all of our tenants is due on the 1st of every month, regardless of move-in date. 


The state of Tennessee allows a 5 day grace period, this ends on the 6th of every month (or next business day). Once this time passes, a one-time 10% late fee will be added to your account.


Tenants with FIG Property Management have the option to enroll in our End-of-Month Payment Plan, which allows rent to be paid as late as the last day of the month, with a 10% late fee applied. A 14-day notice will still be issued on the 6th of the month, as required, but if you are enrolled in this plan, we agree not to file for eviction unless rent remains unpaid after the final day of the month. This option is only available to tenants who do not have a balance from the previous month, and FIG reserves the right to void this plan if necessary.

Yes! You can enable auto-pay through your tenant portal to avoid missing due dates.

Emergencies include major leaks, an inoperable refrigerator, fire, gas leaks, or anything that poses immediate danger. Call our emergency maintenance line after hours.


Not unless you specifically request to be. Our maintenance team can enter with a key and will always knock first. You will be notified in advance unless it’s an emergency.


No. As outlined in your lease, we have the right to enter the unit with proper notice (except in emergencies). Refusing entry may be a lease violation.


Yes! In order to do this, have your roommate or family member fill out an application online and pay the $60 fee (this is to process their background check). We will not check their income or credit, only their criminal + eviction history. Let your Resident Specialist know when they've applied. Once this is done and their application is processed, we'll get them added to the lease! 

Freedom Investment Group reserves the right to deny this application based on the findings of the report. 


Our pet policy varies by apartment. Please review the listing, and email us at info@figpminc.com with additional questions. ESA’s are permitted by law with proper documentation. 


RESTRICTED BREEDS: Doberman, Pit Bull, Chow, German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Boxer, or Great Dane.


There is a minimum $300 non-refundable pet fee and $25/pet/month pet rent.  This may also vary by property.  


Minor decor like removable wall hooks is typically fine, but painting or making permanent changes must be approved in writing.


Transfers may be considered after your initial lease term, based on availability and good standing. Income re-verification may be requested, and new lease terms may apply depending on where you move to. Current tenants transferring get priority over new applicants, though.


Please first reach out to your Resident Specialist so that they can review your lease terms and set up a move-out plan.

Security deposits are returned within the legally required time frame—typically 30 days after move-out—minus any charges for damages or unpaid rent.


We do accept Section 8 vouchers at most units.  We can not charge one amount on the lease and allow you to pay any more or any less than that amount.  Your voucher must be approved for the rental amount requested by the owner.
